Melissa is the founder and owner of Gigagirls, a program that aims to inspire and empower young girls to pursue their interests through technology. Melissa has 20 years of experience in the field of education. She has been a technology teacher for eight years and has helped countless students develop their skills and achieve their goals.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She attended the University of Connecticut and Georgian Court University. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the National Mathematics Honor Society. She also studied at the University of Cincinnati for master's credits in STEAM education.
Aside from her love of Technology, Melissa is a graduate of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has a variety of coping and interpersonal skills to encourage and assist girls in following their dreams. Melissa is a dedicated and knowledgeable educator committed to supporting young girls in achieving their goals. She is very skilled in helping students navigate emotional and mental health challenges.
As a mother, Melissa understands the importance of inspiring young girls to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. So, she founded Gigagirls to provide young girls with opportunities to learn about technology and develop the skills they need to succeed. Through Gigagirls, Melissa hopes to create a community of strong, confident and empowered Gigagirls who can take on any challenge that comes their way.
